Waiting for a refund? Most people can expect it July 7–15

On June 16, the Board of Examiners approved a request from the Idaho State Tax Commission to add funds to the state’s tax refund account in response to the record number of refunds issued. The additional funds will be available in the refund fund starting July 7.

Most taxpayers waiting for direct deposit refunds can expect to see them in their bank accounts between July 7 and July 15. Refunds via check could take longer.

Some taxpayers have been waiting longer for their refunds this year because the State of Idaho issued a record number of refunds to Idaho taxpayers. More than $579 million in refunds have been issued since the tax season began. This represents a 17% increase in the amount of refunds issued over last year.
