Small businesses can get tax help and more with Business Basics class in Boise

BOISE, IDAHO — Oct. 3, 2018 — Businesses just getting started can get help with taxes and other essentials at a free class offered each month by the Idaho State Tax Commission and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The next “Business Basics” class is Oct. 9 from 9-11 a.m. at the Tax Commission’s Boise office.

“We’re offering 15 steps every business needs to take to start off on the right foot,” said Sherry Briscoe, education and outreach trainer for the Tax Commission. “The class is valuable for new businesses and for those who’d like a little more help.”

Business Basics focuses on registering for a new business and applying for tax permits. It provides tips for completing income tax withholding and sales tax returns, and it discusses tax issues for employers and retailers.

The course outlines the value of a business plan, gives tips on how to get financing, and goes over basic accounting and marketing. Every attendee also receives information on available business resources.
