Some Idahoans can estimate their property taxes at

BOISE, IDAHO — June 13, 2012 — Residents in 23 Idaho counties can estimate their 2012 property taxes by visiting the Idaho State Tax Commission’s website at The “Quick Picks” section on the home page links to a calculator that allows taxpayers to estimate what they will owe.

Residents will need to use information from their property tax assessment notice to calculate the tax.

While the estimate takes into account the results of voter approved taxing district levies that have already been approved this year, it doesn’t include the impact of any levies that may pass in August. Also, it doesn’t include fees (e.g. solid waste, forest protection) that may be billed on tax notices. Actual tax amounts will be determined after cities, counties, and other taxing districts set their budgets in late summer.

The tax estimator is a joint effort between the Tax Commission and these participating counties: Ada, Adams, Bear Lake, Benewah, Bingham, Blaine, Boise, Boundary, Butte, Cassia, Clearwater, Elmore, Franklin, Idaho, Jefferson, Latah, Lemhi, Madison, Minidoka, Nez Perce, Payette, Power, and Valley.
