Tax Commission News Release
Drop off tax returns at Tax Commission’s curbside service April 18
BOISE, IDAHO — April 11, 2016 — Last-minute tax filers in the Boise area can drop off their state income tax returns without getting out of their car. The Idaho State Tax Commission will offer its annual curbside service to taxpayers from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18. The Tax Commission is located at 800 Park Blvd., Plaza IV (the Washington Group Complex) in Boise. Individual income tax returns and payments are due April 18 this year.
Tax Commission employees will be outside Plaza IV to accept completed state returns, and no postage is needed. Basic state tax forms will also be available at curbside.
“Save a stamp and reduce your stress on tax day by dropping off your state return outside our office,” said Renee Eymann, curbside service coordinator for the Tax Commission.
Unlike previous years, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) isn’t able to participate in this year’s curbside service. Taxpayers will need to either mail their federal returns or drop them off at the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center in the federal building at 550 West Fort St.
Taxpayers can walk into the Tax Commission’s Boise office or call 334-7660 in the Boise area or toll-free at (800) 972-7660 to have tax-related questions answered, get state tax forms, or make payments. Office and phone hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, including April 18.
Taxpayers can also visit the Tax Commission’s website at tax.idaho.gov to find tax forms, make payments, get answers to tax questions, and check on the status of their state refund.
