Prescription contact lenses exempt from sales tax

A new law exempts purchases of prescription contact lenses from the sales tax as of July 1, 2016. The exemption doesn’t apply to contact lens accessories like solution and cases. For more information, see House Bill 75 passed by the 2015 Idaho Legislature.

Updated income tax withholding guide, tables

We’ve updated A Guide to Idaho Income Tax Withholding on our website with revised tables for 2016.  The good news for employers is they don't need to adjust withholding retroactively back to the beginning of this year, but they must use the revised tables going forward.

Plus, the due date for both the Form 967 and W-2s has been moved up to Jan. 31.
