STATE TAX COMMISSION OFFERS
NEW ONLINE W-2 FILING SERVICE FOR EMPLOYERS
BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 17, 2008 —
Employers can now manually enter their W-2s online and submit
them electronically at tax.idaho.gov, the Idaho State Tax
Commission announced today.
This free, secure service is similar to the
Social Security administration’s online filing process and allows
employers to stop sending disks, tapes, or paper forms to the Tax
Commission. The service is especially beneficial to small
businesses.
“Most businesses with few employees usually
have to handwrite or type their W-2s to send to the Tax Commission,”
said Renee Marsh, tax automated systems specialist. “The new service
cuts down on paperwork and keeps a filing history for employers,”
Marsh said.
To submit W-2 withholding statements, employers
should go to the “Electronic Filing” page and click on “File
Withholding Returns Online for Free.” Once they log in, they should
click on “Manually enter withholding statements.”
Employers who don’t want to enter their W-2s
manually can also use the “File Withholding Returns Online for Free”
page to electronically upload their withholding statements.
