Tax Commission News Release
Idaho’s individual income tax filing season opens Jan. 30, along with feds
BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 14, 2013 — Due to late federal tax law changes, the 2013 filing season for processing Idaho individual income tax returns will begin on January 30, 2013, the same date the Internal Revenue Service will begin processing federal returns.
Despite a delay to the launch of this year’s tax season, e-filing will be the quickest way to receive a refund.
E-filers: You can expect to receive your refund about seven weeks from the date you receive your state acknowledgement.
Paper filers: It can take up to 10 weeks for your refund to complete processing.
First-time filers: If you’ve received the message that your return isn’t in our system, please be patient. It takes about three weeks to enter a first-time filer into our system.
Taxpayers can get help by visiting our website at tax.idaho.gov or by calling the Idaho State Tax Commission at (800) 972-7660 toll free or 334-7660 in the Boise area.
