Tax Commission News Release
State income taxes are due April 17, property tax relief applications on April 16
BOISE, IDAHO — April 4, 2012 — Idahoans have until April 17 this year to file their 2011 individual income tax returns and pay any taxes due, the Idaho State Tax Commission announced today.
Idaho follows the federal income tax due date, which moved to April 17, because the normal April 15 deadline falls on a Sunday this year and April 16 is the Emancipation Day holiday, which is observed in Washington, D. C.
However, homeowners who qualify for the Idaho Property Tax Reduction (“Circuit Breaker”) program or the Idaho Property Tax Deferral program must submit their applications by Monday, April 16. (The deadline is extended to Monday, since the normal April 15 deadline falls on a Sunday this year.)
