Tax Commission News Release
Tax Commission streamlining customer services
BOISE, IDAHO — July 7, 2010 — The Idaho Tax Commission is streamlining its customer service operations, making advice from experts available to taxpayers statewide by telephone starting August 2.
Walk-in service had been available every weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the agency’s five field offices. “We believe that we can handle taxpayer queries more efficiently by routing them through our Boise call center,” said Dan John, tax policy supervisor for the Tax Commission.
Walk-in service will still be provided during the week preceding the April 15 and October 15 income tax filing deadlines. Walk-in service also will be available on the 20th of each month (or the next business day if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday) to help taxpayers meet filing deadlines for sales tax and income tax withholding.
All Idaho taxpayers have access to the Tax Commission’s Taxpayer Services Call Center by dialing 334-7660 or (800) 972-7660 (outside the Treasure Valley). And they can still drop off payments and returns in drop boxes available in any field office lobby from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Taxpayers also can go online to tax.idaho.gov to file returns, get answers to tax questions, and make payments.
Field Office Locations:
Coeur d’Alene 1910 Northwest Blvd., Suite 100
Idaho Falls 150 Shoup Ave., Suite 16
Lewiston 1118 F St.
Pocatello 611 Wilson Ave., Suite 5

The Boise office will continue to offer daily walk-in service.
