New Idaho law allows property tax exemption for $100,000 in personal property value for businesses

BOISE, IDAHO — April 17, 2013 — Due to a new tax law (House Bill 315) that takes effect immediately, businesses can exempt the first $100,000 of their personal property value under one ownership in any county. Businesses with locations in more than one county in Idaho can exempt up to $100,000 of the personal property value in each county in which the property is located. (Read more)

Tax Commission Joins IRS in waiving late payment penalty due to delayed federal forms

BOISE, IDAHO — April 11, 2013 — The Idaho State Tax Commission will waive a late payment penalty for taxpayers who are unable to file on time because their income tax returns include federal forms that couldn’t be filed until after January. The Tax Commission joins the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in granting this conditional penalty relief. (Read more)

Tax Commission extends hours in eastern Idaho offices on April 15

BOISE, IDAHO — April 10, 2013 — The Idaho State Tax Commission will extend office hours in its eastern Idaho offices on Monday, April 15 to help taxpayers meet the income tax filing deadline. (Read more)
